Juhtimise jalajälg - Management footprint

2020. aasta oktoobri viimasel nädalal osalesin JCI Toompea loengul “Liidrikool: Milline saab olema Sinu juhtimisjalajälg?”, mida pidas Ivar Raav.
Selle postituse pealkiri ‘’Juhtimise jalajälg’’ on mõiste, mille on juhtimise sõnavarasse toonud Ivar Raav, kes on juht ning juhtimiskoolitaja.
Samuti kuulsin mõistet “ikigai”, mis tuleb Jaapanist Okinawa saarelt, mis kirjeldab pika ja täisväärtusliku elu saladust.
Tehes asja, mis on sinu ‘’ikigai’’, suudame muretult ületada mäed meie valitud teel ja õpime palju, mida teistega jagada.
Minu suur soov, minu olukorrast hoolimata, on teha samme ettevõtluses. Sellel loengul osalemine julgustas mööda vaatama oma igapäevastest raskustest: ratastoolist sõltumine, saatja abi vajamine, invatranspordi vajamine marsruudil kodu-loeng-kodu, ratastooliga ligipääsetava tualeti olemasolu jne.
Ivar Raav pidas seda loengut nii meeldivalt, et mitmel korral mõtlesin: ‘’Ohhh, nii teen ka mina’’. Näiteks tema esinemise viis. Ta ei seisnud ja ei pidanud loengut, vaid suhtles meiega vabalt, istudes meie ees. Ta ei tundnud vajadust rõhutada enda tarkust ning positsiooni, sest tema jutt tegi seda tema eest. Nägin, et ka teisi kuulajaid pani Ivari olek ja asend end mugavalt tundma.
Peale seda mõtet hakkasin omaette naerma - ega ma ratastoolis seal ei seisaks, seega see eesmärk on juba saavutatud.. Siinkohal pean oluliseks mainida, et see oli vaid n-ö must huumor iseenda üle ja tegelikult ma tegelen siit ratastoolist välja saamisega. Isiklik eesmärk on, et ettevõtte avamisel seisan kahel jalal.

Isegi, kui ma ettevõtte alguseks pole veel ratastooli hüljanud, siis leian, see ei tohiks olla põhjuseks ettevõtlust edasi lükata. Isiklike eesmärkide omamine annab sihi, mille poole edasi püüelda. Enda jaoks olen selle sõnastanud nii: ‘’Kui ma soovin midagi saavutada ja ei sea endale selleks lõppeesmärki, on see nagu jooksmine ilma finišita, mille lõppu ei tulegi. Kui mul on lõpptähtaeg olemas, siis ma saan seda läbitud maad vaadates teinekord teha paremini.’’ Lisaks, pingutades punktist A punkti B jõudes, näen läbitud maad ja see motiveerib jätkama punktini C jne.
Selle esimese sammu teevadki meile raskeks meie enda mõtted. Olen õppinud, et mõelda on kasulik seni, kuni see muutub ülemõtlemiseks. Näiteks: ‘’Aga kui...’’, “Mis siis, kui...’’ - nendel hetkedel proovin end suunata tagasi oma soovide ja eesmärkide juurde, et mitte teha risti vastupidi ja hiljem tehtut kahetseda.

Juhina soovin olla hea, kaasav ning töötaja arengut ja edu toetada. Tahan enda töötajaid läbi personaalse vestluse tundma õppida ning aidata neil isiklike eesmärkide poole püüelda. Meeskonnasiseselt üksteise toetamine peaks olema normaalsus ning loodan, et enda tegevusega suudan ka teisi inspireerida samast mõttest lähtuma.
Ettevõtte siht on olla keskkonnasõbralik. Palgale lisaväärtusena soovin pakkuda inimesele igapäevaelus vajalikke tooteid, mille võrra on inimesel rohkem vaba raha enda jaoks, sest paraku ei saa eeldada, et töötaja soetab teenitud palga eest vaid keskkonnasõbralikke tooteid, mis on kallimad, kui nende alternatiivid.

In the last week of October 2020 I participated in JCI Toompea Lecture **Leadership school: What will be your leadership footprint?’’ that was presented by Ivar Raav.
Title of this post ‘’leadership footprint’’ is a term that is introduced to the leadership vocabulary by Ivar Raav who is leader and leadership and coach.
I also heard the term "ikigai" coming from the Japanese island of Okinawa, which describes the secret of a long and fulfilling life.
By doing things that are our ‘’ikigai’’ we can with no problem cross the mountains on our chosen path and also we learn things we can share with others.
My great desire, regardless of my current situation, is to make progress in business. Participating in that lecture encouraged me to look past difficulties: wheelchair dependence, need for escort assistance, need for disabled transport on the home-lecture-home route, availability of a wheelchair accessible toilet, etc.
Ivar Raav made that lecture so well that in several places I thought: ‘’woww I will do it the same way’’. For example his way to perform. He did not stand and give a lecture, but communicated with us freely, sitting in front of us. He didn’t feel the need to show his own position higher than us. Because his shared knowledge did it for him. I also saw that he made other listeners feel comfortable.
After that thought I started to laughing by myself - anyway with a wheelchair I wouldn’t stand there in front of everybody. So that goal is already checked. At this point, I think it is important to mention that it was just a so-called black humour, and in fact I am getting out of this wheelchair. The personal goal is to stand on two legs on my business opening day.

Even if on my business opening day I still must use a wheelchair then it wouldn’t be a purpose to postpone my entreneurship. Having goals gives the target where to aim. To myself I have said, ‘’If I want to achieve something and don’t put an end goal, it will be like running without a finish, which doesn't come to an end. If I have a deadline, I can sometimes do better by looking at the land I have already covered.’’ Also pushing from point A to point B I see what I was able to do and it motivates me to continue till point C and so on.
Our own thoughts make the first step more difficult.I have learned that thinking is useful until it becomes a rethink. Like ‘’But if I...’’, ‘’What if...’’ - In these moments I try to turn my thoughts back on my real goal to not make misleading decisions that later I would regret.
->Me as a leader<-
As a manager, I want to be good, inclusive and support the development and success of the employees. I plan through personal conversations to get to know my workers and through that to find their personal goals. In a team each other's support should be normal and I hope with my doings I inspire others to use a similar way of thinking.
Business goal is to be environmentally friendly. As a supplement for salary I want to provide environment friendly products that are needed in everyday life. By which they have more free money for themselves because we can’t expect that workers will spend their own salary for environmentally friendly products that are more expensive than the alternatives.

Selle esimese sammu teevadki meile raskeks meie enda mõtted. Olen õppinud, et mõelda on kasulik seni, kuni see muutub ülemõtlemiseks.
